My journey into design

​It was a rainy day in Kottayam, and I was on the 15th floor of Skyline Exotica doing an internship that didn't excite me. As I sat there, feeling bored and unsure about my future, I returned home later and had some snacks with coffee. That's when my cousin dropped by to share exciting news: he had just landed a job as a UIUX Designer at a healthcare company in Bangalore after finishing his design studies at IISc Bangalore.

Listening to him talk about his new job got me intrigued right away. Back in college, I had spent a lot of time doing graphic design work for different events and projects. Even though I had studied Civil Engineering, I realized design was where my heart truly lay.

With my cousin's help I got to know about the basics of design and started self-learning more about UX design from different sources. Around the same time, Adobe released a new tool called Adobe XD, which was specially crafted for UIUX design and free to use. I jumped at the chance to experiment with it, creating mockups and learning as much as I could.

After finishing my Civil Engineering degree, I began searching for design jobs. It wasn't easy, I faced a lot of rejections. But eventually, I landed an amazing opportunity at a healthcare startup in Infopark Kochi.

Since then, my career has been on a steady rise. Every project I take on feels like a new step forward in an industry that feels like home to me now. Looking back, those rainy days in Kottayam marked a turning point, a time when I found my passion and started chasing my dreams with everything I had.​
